Welcome to Bryn Bras Castle in North Wales, a Grade II* Listed Building of Architectural and Historic interest where we offer a choice of exclusive and gracious self-catering castle holiday Apartments (Welsh Assembly Government 'VisitWales' five star). The Apartments are tastefully and imaginatively arranged within the unique and delightful Regency Romanesque-style Castle, set in 32 acres of truly peaceful and tranquil grounds consisting of gardens, woodlands and mountain. We enjoy a generally mild climate amid the gentle foothills of Snowdonia’s National Park, near to Caernarfon and Llanberis in the County of Gwynedd. We have been letting the Apartments within Bryn Bras Castle since 1965.
Come and enjoy the warmth and comfort in one of the few residential Castles in Wales, with the magnificent Snowdon mountain range and National Park on your doorstep, and yet within easy reach of superb sandy beaches and quiet coves, historic Castles, gardens, mountain railways, tranquil lakes and deep forests, together with a host of other attractions midst Welsh culture, heritage and history. There are a variety of National Trust properties and World Heritage Castles in the area.
The historic nature of Bryn Bras Castle with its distinctive structure and style, and the natural beauty of the Snowdonian grounds create a special environment for the holiday Apartment cottage suites within the Castle. Thought and care have been taken in providing plenty of space with modern comforts and conveniences, yet, at the same time respecting the integrity, elegance and style of this important Grade II* Listed Building. The collections of antiques throughout the Apartments create an individual atmosphere in each one and make them genuinely special. The decoration is in keeping with the Castle’s character with rich wallpapers and fabrics enhancing the furniture and furnishings. The somewhat empty minimalist harshness of modern conversions does not suit Bryn Bras.
Our many thoughtful touches and the uniqueness of our much loved home provide guests with a relaxed homely feeling.
We do not aspire to the formality of an hotel style service, but offer an informal, peaceful and caring environment.

The Apartments are available all year round for full weeks or short breaks stays (with flexible arrival and departure days), each is completely self-contained with unique charm and individual character, tastefully and comfortably furnished to high residential standards. Central heating and hot water is supplied from a central source free of charge to every Apartment. There are convenient local general stores, inns, eateries, takeways, garages and Post Offices in the villages of Llanrug, Cwm-y-Glo and Brynrefail; all within half a mile to a mile or so of the Castle. There are a good range of shops and eateries in Llanberis (three and a half miles away) and of course the bustling tourist centre and Royal Borough of Caernarfon (four miles away). There are an excellent variety of local eateries from traditional Welsh inns to fine restaurants in other nearby small towns and villages. Guests taking a morning stroll will relish the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting from the little bakery a quarter of a mile down the lane from the Castle. There are welcome baskets, including light breakfasts, in each Apartment to welcome you.
A wide variety of outdoor pursuits can be undertaken in the area, and walkers, climbers and cyclist will indeed be spoiled for choice, whilst those who prefer to relish the breathtaking scenery from the comfort of a car will find Bryn Bras Castle an ideal touring base, with the dramatic Lleyn Peninsula and North Wales Coast, the Isle of Anglesey and Snowdonia National Park all easily accessible. Beautiful beaches abound, and there is fishing, riding and pony trekking, flying, canoeing, sailing and water sports, golf and tennis all within easy reach, and in inclement weather the indoor Leisure Centre at Caernarfon provides heated pools, squash and tennis courts and activities hall. With nearby Caernarfon and the University City of Bangor, only nine miles distant, there is a combination of theatres, cinemas, shopping precincts, markets, museums and much more...
